Creative lighting is one of the most fun elements in dining room design. In the past few years, design companies of all kinds are putting new, artistic spins on light solution. Simple materials can be used to make a big statement! Instead of light or white cabinets, we opted for black against the marble backsplash to make a bold statement that's still timeless. Keeping the selections classic gives you the opportunity to have fun and go bold.

RGD tip to steal from this space:

Don’t be afraid of color and bold pattern! Whether it plays a supporting role or is the main event, it can really pull a room together.

THE BATHROOM

RGD tip to steal from this space:

What's old is new again. In this case, it was strips of old cinema posters used to create this one-of-a-kind wallcovering. Try the same trick with that load of books you don’t read anymore. Use the inside pages and glue them together making sure any corners are pressed firmly down so they don’t curl up. Then decorate any surface with the paper you’ve got together for a unique, highly custom treatment.

THE BEDROOM

RGD tip to steal from this space:

Over furnish and layer. The most inviting rooms always seem to have plenty of versatile seating options and conversational groupings. This particular client has a lot of guests in their home and having unique and comfortable spaces in each room was very important to them. Groupings create intimacy in a room and help to make the space feel bigger, the more you squeeze into it. By bringing in just a few more items like cocktail tables to anchor these micro-spaces, makes them feel even more welcoming.

THE HALLWAY NOOK

RGD tip to steal from this space:

Having a difficult time styling shelves and accessorizing your home? Break it down! Start by creating a few individual groupings on each shelf. Approaching shelves this way makes them much easier to tackle — and don't be afraid to edit. Some of your favorite objects might not make the final cut and that's ok.

Finally, remember to make it personal. You can follow all the design tricks you know, but really and truly, the most important thing to remember when pulling together any room is to inject your own personality.
